Grim bed bug infestation between two sofa cushions exposed by pest control expert
A pest control expert has shared his grim discovery after being called out to deal with a bed bug infestation in a man's sofa.
The 50-year-old found a compound of orange bugs on the sofa after the homeowner complained of a bed bug problem.
Excrement could be seen stuck along the crack as he zoomed his camera in.
Rory walked to the side of the sofa and lifted the seat to find more tiny bugs lying in the dark.
The expert, who had previously found a mass infestation inside another Maryland home, said: " Bed bugs can be one of the most difficult and expensive bugs out there to get rid of.
"I've been doing this for 25 years and it still amazes me seeing bad infestations, but I still get very excited like it's the first time seeing them because we're really good at what we do."
Bed bugs are mostly active at night and bite the exposed skin of sleeping humans and animals to feed on their blood.
They are about the size of an apple seed and often hide in the cracks and crevices of beds, box sprins, headboards, bed frames and any other objects around a bed.
