Queasy Fried Chicken: Gruesome photos of closed down takeaway in east London released
Waltham Forest Council has released a series of gruesome photos of a now-closed takeaway that one its health inspectors described as ‘the filthiest premises he had seen in a long time’.
The photos showed the QFC eatery in Wood Street, east London had very poor hygiene and cleanliness, as well as a mouse infestation.
‘It begs the question, “What does the Q in QFC stand for?”‘ said deputy leader and cabinet member for environment, councillor Clyde Loakes.
‘Queasy? Questionable? Certainly not Quality, that’s for sure! In all seriousness, the photos I have seen connected with this inspection tell a pretty disgusting tale.’
The chicken shop was closed down on 18 November immediately after an inspection and two days later a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Order was secured from Stratford magistrates’ court.
The takeaway will only be allowed to re-open once environmental health officers are satisfied it no longer causes a public health risk.
Cllr Loakes added: ‘It is truly shocking to find businesses like this that have an utter disregard for the health and well being of their customers.’
